Earthed

Measured against an ideal, like perfection,
there's grit and flaw in every human action.

Measured against the dark we stumble in,
one spark of goodness is pure light and gain.

we come from ancient chaos, muddy clay,
and carry the clobber with us all the way.

But, rainbow-like, this flesh and blood and bones,
can catch God's light in strange and subtle bones.
